Description
The Company has developed the patented HydroKeratome corneal cutting device for use in the LASIK procedure. Management and industry experts believe it will replace the automated lamellar keratotomy instrument, or microkeratome, currently used in the LASIK refractive procedure. In animal and cadaver eye studies, the Company has demonstrated that its proprietary technology is significantly more precise than the microkeratome. It is simple and easy to use and will reduce the risk of human and instrument error presently associated with the microkeratome.

- Cuts between the layers of the lamellae rather than
across as with mechanical devices resulting in a
smooth, precise cut
- Cuts tissue without deforming it – no tearing or
rough edges
- Predicable flap thickness assured because
of ± 3 micron tolerance
- Smoother cuts promote quicker and more
complete healing
- No heat – micro-coagulation is eliminated
- Does not generate wound debris
